Meet with group leader at 6 pm. Mon., Aug 2 Walking trip through Venice with your group leader. Tue. & Wed., Aug 3 & 4 Travel to the medieval hill town of Gubbio by trains and bus. Includes an orientation walk through the town including the St Francis Cathedral, the 1000 meter ride to the Basilica and a short hike from the top of Mt. Ingino. Thu., Aug 5 Travel by bus to Assisi. A 1 hour orientation walk with the group leader, visit St. Francis Cathedral, Basilica of St Clare and the Roman temple ruins. Fri., Aug 6 Take the train to Spello to sample exclusive local wine and regional food specialties at an enoteca in this medieval town. Return to Assisi. Sat., Sun., & Mon., Aug 7, 8, & 9 Travel by train to Rome. You have time to visit the coliseum, arch of Constantine, the Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, etc. Remember that the Vatican Museum is closed on some days including Sunday.
